The Stone File

Hi lovey doves!

*I apologize in advance for the novel

When I sat down to type this post, I started going on and on about how much I love this dress (which I do) but as I look at these photos, I'm realizing just how much fashion has truly impacted my life. I know that fashion -- and being a fashion blogger -- sometimes gets a bad rap for being "vain" and "materialistic," but it's such an amazing form of expression and representation of growth. I've gone through a lot of ups and downs in my short time living but one thing that has always remained the same is how my personal style has changed to reflect what I felt at that point in my life -- often subconsciously. I remember being in middle school and being so scared to wear what I wanted to wear and what I felt happy in because of things my peers would say. I would come home from school and cry, begging my mom to let me wear jeans and t-shirts to school everyday (thank God she didn't) like everyone else instead of my Juicy Couture blazer and matching skirt (which I loved).

I'm a naturally shy person and the idea of standing out in any way terrified me for a long time. I feel so thankful that I have been led to express myself through this avenue and even more thankful that there are people like you that are at all interested in what I'm wearing. It really does mean everything to me and I'll do my best to continue bringing you looks that are authentically me.

In other news, this Mara Hoffman dress is a literal dream and worth every penny and these heels from Target are under $40 and also worth every penny.

Happy Monday! I hope you all made it through the beginning of the week as painlessly as possible. For me, it was the longest day EVER so I'm super happy about tonight's look because it combines all of my favorite things! If you haven't already noticed, I'm a total girly-girl -- give me ruffles, sparkles and oversized bows and I'm in heaven. Although I'm partial to the more feminine side of fashion, I also love mixing in different pieces to add a more androgynous vibe. There's something so effortlessly chic and sexy about a sleek pant-suit or a structured loafer when paired with delicate, whimsical pieces. Sometimes I literally get GOOSIES when two opposite styles come together in a look like that!

I've been hitting Zara pretty hard lately but there have just been SO many good things! It's one of my many weaknesses. I scooped up this jumpsuit a few weeks ago for UNDER $40. Spring weather has been taking its sweet little time arriving this year so I layered the jumpsuit over one of my favorite sheer blouses, tied a ridiculous (I.E. fabulous) bow and...VOILA! I would normally throw on a pair of heels with a look like this but I decided to try out these sweet little Gucci loafers and I'm so happy I did because they relaxed the look so much and made it much more wearable.
