Happy Friday!

I hope you all had a great week and have super fun weekend plans ahead. It literally rained just about everyday here this week so shooting blog pics was a struggle. We started this shoot when it was overcast and halfway through it started to rain -- luckily we just so happened to have this Totes polka dot umbrella (ella ella eh -- sorry couldn't help it) in the car! Improvisation at its finest!

I've always believed in investing in classic, well-made pieces and Baukjen has always made that really easy for me. Polka dots are a huge trend right now but it's also not going anywhere anytime soon so I know I'll be wearing this blazer for years to come just like I have with my other pieces from Baukjen! I found this tank on sale at J. Crew a couple of weeks ago (still available!) and couldn't believe how perfectly the prints matched up together.

amur amore

If I've said it once, I've said it a MILLION times -- I'm a sucker for a matching set! There's something incredibly chic and polished about a perfectly coordinated top and bottom. The best part is that you always have the option of separating the pieces to create two totally new looks! I've already worn this Amur top with a pair of dark wash, flared jeans (these to be exact!) and it was equally as cute.

I discovered Amur about a year ago and have been in love with the brand ever since. If I had to choose a brand that most closely represented my personal style -- Amur would definitely be it. Every single piece is whimsically inventive whether it's from dozens of cascading ruffles or sky-high slits and sheer paneling. These pieces really do strike the perfect balance between chic and sexy.

I've always loved mixing higher end pieces like this set with more economical finds like these darling slides I scooped up at Target by Who What Wear! I'm telling you...the Who What Wear collections at Target are GOLDMINES for finding really well-made, trendy pieces at unbelieveable prices. I've received countless complements on these red ruffle slides and nobody can believe that they were under $40!

Hey ya'll!

Is it just me or is everything Mara Hoffman particularly breathtaking this season? I just can't get enough of all of the bright colors and fun silhouettes! When I first saw this slip dress, I wasn't quite sure how it would look on me because of the lack of shape but I'm so excited that I gave it a try because it lays on the body really nicely and doesn't feel bulky at all. I plan on layering it over a crisp white t-shirt with a pair of sneaks for a fun weekend look!

What's your favorite trend this season? and what are you most looking forward to wearing this Summer?! Let me know down below in the comments!

Hi lovey doves!

*I apologize in advance for the novel

When I sat down to type this post, I started going on and on about how much I love this dress (which I do) but as I look at these photos, I'm realizing just how much fashion has truly impacted my life. I know that fashion -- and being a fashion blogger -- sometimes gets a bad rap for being "vain" and "materialistic," but it's such an amazing form of expression and representation of growth. I've gone through a lot of ups and downs in my short time living but one thing that has always remained the same is how my personal style has changed to reflect what I felt at that point in my life -- often subconsciously. I remember being in middle school and being so scared to wear what I wanted to wear and what I felt happy in because of things my peers would say. I would come home from school and cry, begging my mom to let me wear jeans and t-shirts to school everyday (thank God she didn't) like everyone else instead of my Juicy Couture blazer and matching skirt (which I loved).

I'm a naturally shy person and the idea of standing out in any way terrified me for a long time. I feel so thankful that I have been led to express myself through this avenue and even more thankful that there are people like you that are at all interested in what I'm wearing. It really does mean everything to me and I'll do my best to continue bringing you looks that are authentically me.

In other news, this Mara Hoffman dress is a literal dream and worth every penny and these heels from Target are under $40 and also worth every penny.

put a bow on it

Happy Monday! I hope you all made it through the beginning of the week as painlessly as possible. For me, it was the longest day EVER so I'm super happy about tonight's look because it combines all of my favorite things! If you haven't already noticed, I'm a total girly-girl -- give me ruffles, sparkles and oversized bows and I'm in heaven. Although I'm partial to the more feminine side of fashion, I also love mixing in different pieces to add a more androgynous vibe. There's something so effortlessly chic and sexy about a sleek pant-suit or a structured loafer when paired with delicate, whimsical pieces. Sometimes I literally get GOOSIES when two opposite styles come together in a look like that!

I've been hitting Zara pretty hard lately but there have just been SO many good things! It's one of my many weaknesses. I scooped up this jumpsuit a few weeks ago for UNDER $40. Spring weather has been taking its sweet little time arriving this year so I layered the jumpsuit over one of my favorite sheer blouses, tied a ridiculous (I.E. fabulous) bow and...VOILA! I would normally throw on a pair of heels with a look like this but I decided to try out these sweet little Gucci loafers and I'm so happy I did because they relaxed the look so much and made it much more wearable.

the bees knees

It's no secret that I have an unhealthy obsession with gingham -- always have! I'm so happy that it's back in such a big way this season. Gingham is such a sweet print and it's a PERFECT "starter print" if you're easing your way into being a print-mix master! I found these pants at Zara and knew I could't live without them after I saw the pocket ruffles. Unfortunately, this exact pair is sold out, but they're available in the cutest shade of pink here (under $50!) and I've linked a similar gingham pant down below.

If you splurge on one pair of heels this Spring, it has to be these Marc Fisher pumps! They pair with WAY more than even I thought they would and they're ridiculously comfortable...not to mention the cuter-than-cute bee pattern. I'll definitely be pulling these out as often as I can this season! What is your favorite purchase so far this year? Let me know down below in the comments!

Happy Friday lovies!
