cousin earl + giveaway

Dress | Boots | Sunnies | Bag
This dress from Cousin Earl makes me feel like a festival-ready princess (totally normal, right?) and I can already see myself living in it this season! I love this dress for many obvious reasons, but for some unique qualities as well. I'm always super picky about wearing short sleeves that aren't the "right" length...I can tend to look a bit broad-shouldered if I wear sleeves that are too short and these are the PERFECT length and are super roomy without looking bulky. I was also drawn to this dress because of the tie in the front, which allows you to almost customize the fit of the dress depending on how tight you tie it. With the slightest high-lo hem and a killer tribal print, this dress is a major contender for the title of "closet staple." Guess what? I've teamed up with the wonderful people at Cousin Earl to give away one of these dresses to one lucky winner! Pop over to my Instagram @taylornstone for the (super quick and easy) entry details!

don't quit your daydream

Top | Jeans | Shoes | Watch
How cute is this "Dont Quit Your Daydream" T from The Home T's new line: Doc Shorty? If you're a fan of the classic "Home" T's, this one is just as amazingly soft and focuses on products that motivate people and make them happy! What's better than that?

Growing up, I had a really hard time fitting in and making friends. Why? Because I was constantly picked on for the way I dressed. Instead of showing up to school in jeans and a t-shirt like everyone else, I wanted to wear my Juicy Couture blazer and skirt set with matching Uggs (you know, back when that was a thing). I was living in Aviano, Italy at that time and became so inspired by Italian style, but I attended school on an American military base so there was a sharp contrast between the chic, Italian style that I loved and how that was received at school by kids that had no interest in fashion whatsoever and simply didn't understand why I did. I remember kids coming up to me asking why I always dress "like I'm going somewhere." I didn't know then, but now I know that it's because I was going somewhere, and now I'm there. When I think back, I feel so silly for wishing I could dress like everyone else when I was so blessed at that age to be able to wear anything I wanted.

As I grew up, I began to feel more comfortable with my style and okay with the fact that it was different, but I always had a bit of hesitation when it came to starting a fashion blog. The Stone File was something I wanted to do for years and, just two years ago, I published my first blog post and can say that my life has absolutely been changed for the better. For the first time, I felt completely, 100% my true self. Thank you so much for reading this, supporting me and following along with me and The Stone File. I'm so appreciative and so happy that I never quit my daydream.

enza essentials

Happy Monday! I'm so excited to kick the week off with a review (all opinions are my own) of some amazing products from Enza Essentials. My journey with Enza started with filling out a skin care questionnaire (here), which helps the team at Enza formulate a personalized regimen directed towards your personal skin care concerns! The customization aspect was huge for me since most skin care lines have a "one size fits all" approach to skin care when the truth is, what's perfect for my skin, might not be perfect for yours and vice versa.

I work as a "Skin Specialist" at Azalea Medical Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery (my "day job") so I'm always skeptical when it comes to incorporating new products into my routine that promise "big results" so I can assure you that I made sure that I formed honest opinions of these products before writing this review. After using the Enza products customized for me for about a month, I knew that I was ready to share my results!

My main skin care concerns were primarily centered around occasional breakouts and dark undereye circles. I primarily used Obagi products before, which are packed full of hydroquinone (a depigmenting agent), so my actual skin tone was very even, but I suffered from the occasional breakouts that felt like they were becoming more and more frequent.

The products I received include: Stress Extraction Cleanser, Stress Extraction Toner, Extraction Enzyme Peel, Pore Extraction Masque, Stress Extraction Creme, Eyebright Anti-Puffiness Gelee and the Glycolic Serum. Instead of just saying that I love the products because they work, I want to break it down by product and tell you what I like the most about each one.

Stress Extraction Cleanser: I really enjoyed this cleanser, because it feels very gentle, but contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which help to exfoliate the skin and Salicylic Acid, which helps to target acne. I love these ingredients combined because you get the benefits of eliminating breakouts without the icky dryness that usually accompanies acne products. (Shop here)

Stress Extraction Toner: I'm a toner girl. Always have been. I run out of toner before any of my other products because I use it so much and this one is different than any other toner I've used before. I know I'm not supposed to, but I've been using this like four times a day (oops) because I love how it makes my skin feel! It feels like it's actually doing something to my skin, which I love. (Shop here)

Eyebright Anti-Puffiness Gelee: I've always been bad about using an eye cream. I know I need to, but I've always hated that extra step for some reason so I was skeptical about even using this one. I'm so glad I did. This eye cream is like the eye cream for people that hate eye cream. The texture isn't thick like a moisturizer, but more of a gel and it absorbs so quickly that you don't even know it's there. I complained about dark circles (maybe because I wasn't using an eye cream, duh Taylor!) and I noticed that this definitely seemed to lighten them up and add some brightness under my eyes. It left me feeling refreshed and energized. (Shop here)

Glycolic Serum: O.M.G. I want to bathe in the Glycolic Serum. I've been a forever fan of exfoliating acids and this serum is packed full of them. This is a super serum if I've ever seen one. It exfoliates, targets fine wrinkles (yes, I have some) and hyperpigmentation and helps to even out the skin tone. WHAT. (Shop here)

Stress Extraction Creme: A moisturizer? For acne-prone skin? Yes. Most people don't realize that not using a moisturizer can actually cause your skin to produce more oil, making your breakouts worse! This moisturizer is incredibly sheer, lightweight and seems to disappear into your skin (oh, and it smells so fresh and so clean, clean). I feel like this would be a great moisturizer for anyone, especially during the Summer. (Shop here)

Pore Extraction Masque: Yay a mask! I'm a total face mask junkie and I'm not a bit ashamed about it. This one fits in nicely to my current collection and is perfect for days when I'm feeling like my skin isn't 100%. I feel like everything bad in my skin gets washed down the drain with this mask, followed by the feeling of totally clean, exfoliated skin. (Shop here)

Extraction Enzyme Peel: I'll be honest...I didn't understand this at first. I expected it to be the same consistency as the mask and when it wasn't, I was scared. It's more of a gel-toothpastey texture? That's the world's worst description of something, but you get it. Once I stopped being a baby and actually put the peel on my face, I was amazed by how cooling and energizing it felt. It's basically a non-abrasive exfoliant that really brightened up my complexion. I've actually used this before several events as part of my prep and I really felt like it gave me an extra little glow. (Shop here)

So, what does all of this mean? Well, after a month of using these products, I haven't had a single breakout. Not one. I've never had extreme acne, but nobody wants to wake up in the morning with an ugly surprise on their face and a big day ahead. It's such a relief using these products to know that's exactly what's not going to happen anymore. I'm offically an Enza girl!
