stripes x stripes

Hi pretty little things!

I know we all love to  mix different prints to create fun, eclectic looks, but what about mixing the same print? Stripes are, by far, my favorite print to wear, so I wanted to create a mixed stripe look that steps just outside of the traditional print-mixing guidelines. I'll be honest, this look was a complete accident, but once it happened (divine intervention, perhaps?), I started to understand it and love it.

There's so much visual interest going on here that it almost hurts (in a good way, of course), but even so, it's still very streamlined and classic, which is what I love the most about it. I think that the key to creating a look like this is to keep the cuts of your pieces very classic and to keep your color scheme consistent or at least incorporate one print -- like a black and white stripe -- that can be considered a "neutral."

What do you think about mixing stripes? Let me know down below in the comments!

PS: These culottes also come in a jumpsuit (I know. *swoon*) that I've also linked in the outfit details.
