The Stone File: August 2014

white out

Happy Friday Everyone!!

No matter how many fashion "rules" I excuse, there is one that I just can't shake. Labor Day is on Monday which, unfortunately, more white! As much as I'm ready to break out the over-the-knee boots and cozy sweaters, there's just something about an 80 degree, South Georgia Fall that makes you want to extend the Summer essentials a teeny bit further.

Anyways, I'm punctually ending my "white-out extravaganza" today with a completely white look with hints of gold AND another one of my favorites -- Summer leather!! There's nothing like wearing leather during the Summer in one of the most humid parts of the country, but in all seriousness, I can't resist a good Season/Wardrobe switcharoo from time to time.

I hope that you all have a relaxing and beautiful holiday weekend! See you right here next week!

B&W | always right

Hi everyone!

Today's ensemble was influenced by one of my "go to," all-time favorite, never overdone trends -- black and white! After all, some of the prettiest things in life are black and white...I'm talking to you Chanel.

For the sake of keeping it classic, I kept this little number simple with minimal accessories and an [almost] monochromatic color scheme throughout paired with a bit of "summer sequin" on the clutch. One of my favorite things to do in my wardrobe is to mix different prints and textures to create a subtle quirkiness, adding a modern touch to an overall classic look.

I hope you enjoy!

pastel persuasion

Well, the day has finally come when I create the first of many blog posts! I am overwhelmed with the love and support I have received already as I begin this new, exciting and long overdue venture. The Stone File holds a very special place in my heart -- in many ways, it is my heart -- and will continue to evolve and grow with me with the assistance of an incredibly talented photographer and dear friend, Tara Ashton. You can expect weekly posts documenting carefully crafted looks by yours truly filled with my personal style which, over the years, has culminated to an eclectic mix of southern charm, european elegance and modern simplicity.

I find myself consistently inspired by innovation and reinvention, the idea that one person can encompass a myriad of looks, changing each day to suit a mood or a feeling. For me, fashion isn't about precise adherence to the latest trends, rather, it's about embracing an inner excitement about a cultivated aesthetic, intertwining that with the latest and greatest to dream up something uniquely your own.

Welcome to my little world, I hope you find it beautiful, entertaining and, most importantly, inspiring!

So much love,
